Cassia, Chinese medicine name. It is the dried and mature seeds of the legume Cassia or small Cassia, and is named for its eyesight function. Mature fruits are harvested in autumn and then sun-dried. Their seeds are laid, and impurities are removed. Cassia is bitter, sweet, salty, slightly cold in nature, enters the liver, kidney, and large intestine meridians; moistens the bowels, reduces lipids, improves eyesight, and treats constipation, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension. It can clear the liver and improves eyesight and has laxative effect, reduce blood pressure and decrease blood lipids.
